Chettinad
Chettinad, the home of Nattukottai Chettiars (Nagarathar) comprises of about 74 villages forming clusters spread over a territory of 1,550 sq. km in the Districts of Sivagangai and Pudukottai in the State of Tamil Nadu, in Southern India. The Chettinad region is well known for its 18th century opulent mansions with unique architecture, the World famous Chettinad cuisine, and hundreds of well maintained Hindu temples. Chettinad has been included in the watch list of Most Endangered Sites of the World Monuments Fund in partnership with UNESCO.
